معرفی
Michael Sprenger is Lecturer at ETH Zurich's Department of Environmental Systems Science, specializing in atmospheric dynamics and meteorological diagnostics.
Research Focus: His work investigates mountain meteorology (foehn winds, extreme events), stratosphere-troposphere exchange, tropopause dynamics, and weather system climatologies using COSMO/ICON and ECMWF simulations. He developed Lagranto, a Lagrangian trajectory analysis tool used for atmospheric transport studies.
Methodologies: Combines case studies with long-term climatological analyses based on ERA-Interim/ERA5 reanalysis. Creates algorithms for objective weather-system identification including cyclones, fronts, and warm conveyor belts.
Teaching: Leads courses on Weather Systems and advanced mathematics for environmental sciences.
