Michael Anagnostou

Michael Anagnostou is a University Teacher in Sport Management & Quantitative Research Methods at Loughborough University since April 2023. Previously, he served as MSc Course Director and Lecturer in Sport and Event Management at Coventry University, and Course Leader and Lecturer in International Football Business at the University of East London (UCFB). He is affiliated with the Sport, Business and Society research group and the Sir John Beckwith Centre for Sport.

His professional career spans 23 years in sports management, holding senior roles at FIFA (General Coordinator for World Cups), UEFA (Match Delegate), Athens 2004 Olympic Organising Committee (Competition Manager), and leadership positions in football clubs like Nottingham Forest F.C. and ARIS Thessaloniki F.C. He has also led sports consultancy projects, including conferences and sports academies.

Education includes a PhD in Sports Science & Physical Education (Democritus University of Thrace, Greece) on Brand Management for sport leagues, an MSc in Sports and Recreation Management (University of Sheffield), and a bachelor's in Sports Science from Democritus University. He holds certifications in International Sport Law, Finance, and Emotional Intelligence. His research focuses on sports management, marketing strategies, and quantitative methodologies.
