Meï-Lan Mamode is an Assistant Professor in the Research Stream at the University of Toronto's Language Studies, specializing in French Studies. She is affiliated with the Department of French Studies and focuses on second language acquisition, particularly French prosody.

Her research investigates the perception and production of prosody in adult French language learners, addressing challenges through cognitive training and pedagogical innovation. Recent publications highlight her work on perceptual competence in L2 French, intonation patterns in Canadian French dialects, and morphological analysis of Mauritian Creole. These articles reflect her expertise in prosodic training, phonetic variation, and creole linguistics.
