Mette Kaasgaard is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, affiliated with the Department of Regional Health Research at Zealand University Hospital. Her work bridges clinical research and singing therapy, focusing on health promotion for individuals with respiratory diseases.
- Education: PhD in Singing in Pulmonary Rehabilitation (Aarhus University), MSc in Digital Communication and Design (IT University of Copenhagen), Diploma in Classical Singing (Royal Danish Academy of Music)
Her research explores the physiological and psychosocial benefits of singing for chronic respiratory conditions like COPD and NSCLC. Key projects include Sing-a-Lung trials and systematic reviews on singing in respiratory diseases.
Recent publications analyze creative health interventions, rehabilitation delivery models, and patient experiences in lung cancer diagnostics. She has received multiple awards, including the 2023 Danish 'Best Clinical Trial' prize.
