Mert D. Pesé is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the School of Computing, Clemson University, where he also serves as the Founding Director of the TigerSec Laboratory. His research bridges computer science and cybersecurity with a specialized focus on automotive and autonomous systems.

His recent publications span top venues including DSN, CVPR-W, and VehicleSec, reflecting a strong trend toward securing AI-powered transportation systems. His work increasingly integrates generative models for red-teaming and synthetic threat generation, as well as formal privacy guarantees in vehicle data ecosystems.

Mert D. Pesé has advised graduate students, including Master’s student Yu Wei (Sam) Liu, and leads externally funded research projects supported by the US Army GVSC, NSA, DENSO, and BMW. He has collaborated with industry leaders such as General Motors, Ford, BMW, Audi, DENSO, and Harman, ensuring real-world impact. He is also actively involved in the academic community, serving on the TPC for IEEE SecDev 2025.
He leads the TigerSec Laboratory, a research group focused on cybersecurity for emerging technologies, particularly in automotive and AI domains. The lab fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in secure system design.
