Dr. Mengbin Ye is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. He joined the university in April 2025 as a full-time faculty member. Previously, he served as a Senior Research Fellow at Curtin University (2020–2025) and held a postdoctoral position at the University of Groningen (2018–2020). His academic journey includes a PhD in Engineering from the Australian National University (2018) and a B.E. (First Class Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Auckland (2013).
Research Focus: Dr. Ye’s work bridges control theory and network science, with applications to social systems, epidemic dynamics, and multi-agent systems. Key areas include opinion formation in social networks, suppression of epidemic spreading via control strategies, and theoretical advancements in dynamical systems. His methods integrate analytical, computational, and data-driven approaches from systems theory, game theory, and network analysis.
Awards:
- Western Australian Premier's Early to Mid-Career (EMC) Fellow (2021–2025)
Supervision: Eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students as a co-supervisor, focusing on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of networks, control, and applied mathematics.
