Dr. Melvin Beck is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at The University of Memphis. He joined the faculty after earning his Ph.D. in Zoology (Genetics) from the University of Arkansas in 1974. He has served as Coordinator of Graduate Studies and Department Chair, and currently teaches courses in General Biology, Genetics, and Human Genetics. His research focuses on cytogenetics, chromosomal aberrations in animals, and population genetics using karyotypic and electrophoretic methods.
