Melva Persico is a Senior Lecturer of Spanish at Clemson University's Department of Languages within the College of Arts and Humanities. She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Studies (Spanish) from the University of Miami and has over 30 years of teaching experience across multiple institutions including the University of Guyana and the University of Miami. Her research focuses on Afro-Hispanic and Caribbean literature, cultural studies, and the role of social media in minority literary discourse.
