Meltem Yanilmaz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). She specializes in advanced materials for energy storage systems, particularly focusing on carbon nanofibers, lithium-ion batteries, and composite materials. Her research integrates nanotechnology with sustainable energy solutions, emphasizing cost-effective and environmentally friendly battery components.
Her work spans projects funded by TUBITAK and BAP, including the development of solid-state electrolytes, flame-retardant lithium-sulfur batteries, and sodium-ion battery technologies. She has been recognized with the TUBA GEBIP award (2021) for her contributions to materials science.
