Meltem NARTER, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Psychology Department at Uskudar University since 2019. She earned her BSc in Psychology (1996), MSc in Social Psychology (1998), and PhD in Social Psychology (2002) from İstanbul University. Her research focuses on Social Representations, Identity, Discursive Social Psychology, Quantitative Methods, and Gender Studies.

Research Themes: Dr. NARTER explores societal perceptions of mental health, resilience in crises, and cultural dimensions of psychoanalytic concepts. She has published extensively on child rights awareness, addiction among vocational students, and media representations of psychology.
Academic Contributions: She has supervised two master’s theses (2019) and actively participates in university governance as Head of the Psychology Department and member of Quality and Internship Commissions. Her courses include Social Psychology, Anthropology, and Film & Psychology.
Recent Work: Her 2023 paper on crisis resilience highlights psychological strategies for coping with societal disruptions. She also co-authored Bitmeyen Yas (2022) analyzing pandemic mental politics and Cultural Context of Fatherhood (2022).
