Meltem ALPARSLAN

Meltem ALPARSLAN is an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University's Faculty of Literature, Ancient Languages and Cultures. With a PhD and MA in Hittitology from Istanbul University (2007 and 1999), she specializes in Hittite historical geography, religious practices, and material culture. Her research spans Anatolian archaeology, philology, and ancient languages.

Her academic work focuses on Hittite seals, festival rituals, and state organization. She has presented at international conferences on topics like the Ḫišuwa-festival's political role and local Anatolian cults. Her publications address Hittite-Luwian interactions, metallurgy, and multilingualism.

ALPARSLAN has supervised 7 theses and contributed to major projects including the Hittite Historical Atlas (2011-2014) and the Hittite Festival Ritual Corpus (2016-2036). She serves as a peer reviewer for journals like Adalya and Olba.
