Melody Baggech

Melody Baggech serves as Professor of Music and Opera Director in the Department of Performing Arts at East Central University, a position she has held since joining the faculty in 2001. Her leadership encompasses vocal instruction, opera production direction, and regional performance representation.

• Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma

Professor Baggech's performance research spans voice pedagogy across opera, musical theater, sacred music, and contemporary genres. She maintains an active performance career with international engagements in Austria, Italy, and Scotland, complemented by regional conference appearances at Texoma Regional NATS and College Music Society events. Her guest recitals at institutions including West Texas A&M University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University demonstrate her commitment to cross-institutional collaboration.

As Opera Director, she provides students with immersive production experience through fully staged works and recital opportunities.
