Melissa Verhey is a faculty member in the Language Department at The Lawrenceville School, specializing in French language and literature. She teaches all levels of French and emphasizes practical skills for real-world application in France. Her research focuses on fictional autobiographies in French literature, examining their role in self-knowledge and narrative theory. She holds a PhD from Princeton University (2018) and advanced degrees from McMaster University. A key project is co-authoring an intermediate French textbook (Fall 2021) that integrates inclusive language and contemporary francophone issues.
