Melissa Redmond is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work at Carleton University. She co-chairs the Centre for Studies on Poverty and Social Citizenship with Dr. Ilyan Ferrer and has an active SSHRC-funded research agenda focusing on social service access, human rights, and community-based interventions.

Her research spans social work pedagogy, children's rights, wellness promotion, and poverty reduction. Recent work explores public libraries as sites for social work interventions, transnational family dynamics in immigration law, and recovery pathways from substance dependence. She teaches courses on ethics, social policy, human rights, and legal frameworks in social work practice. Dr. Redmond's publications address intersections between policy analysis, mental health, and community advocacy.
