Melissa Gilroy serves as an Assistant Professor in the College of Healthcare Professions at DeSales University, where she has been a core faculty member in the Physician Assistant Program since 2017. A board-certified physician assistant with extensive clinical experience in adult gastroenterology, she integrates practical healthcare knowledge into academic training while maintaining active clinical engagement.
Her academic foundation includes:
- Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Hamilton College
- Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College (now Northeast College of Health Sciences)
- Physician Assistant certification through DeSales University's program (2012)
Dr. Gilroy's scholarly focus centers on physician assistant education with specialized emphasis on gastroenterology clinical training and patient empowerment methodologies.
