Melissa Davis is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as Vice Chair for Imaging Informatics in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. She holds dual appointments with primary affiliation in Radiology & Biomedical Imaging and secondary appointment in Biomedical Informatics & Data Science.
Dr. Davis earned her BA in Chemistry and Psychology from Wellesley College, MD from Medical University of South Carolina (2009), completed Diagnostic Radiology residency and Neuroradiology fellowship at University of North Carolina, and obtained her MBA from Yale University (2017) with healthcare management focus. She is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology (2015) and Neuroradiology (2021) by the American Board of Radiology.
Her research centers on organizational change and innovation within healthcare, with specific expertise in Artificial Intelligence applications, organizational innovation strategies, healthcare management, quality improvement, and health equity. Dr. Davis's work examines how technological advancements can be integrated into healthcare systems to improve patient outcomes and address systemic disparities, particularly through the lens of imaging informatics.
Her publication portfolio demonstrates significant contributions across health equity research, organizational change management, AI in radiology, and analysis of social determinants of health.
