Melissa A. Williams, Ph.D., serves as Associate Professor of Finance and Department Chair for the Economics, Finance, Marketing and Decision Science Department at the University of Houston-Clear Lake's College of Business. She joined the faculty in 2001 and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation earned in 2004.
Her research concentrates on:
- Agency theory dynamics in corporate structures
- Corporate governance frameworks
- Executive compensation systems
- Fixed-income securities markets
Dr. Williams teaches undergraduate corporate finance and financial statement structures courses. She maintains active professional engagement through memberships in the Southwestern Finance Association, Southern Finance Association, Financial Management Association, and CFA Society of Houston.
