Melinda Hermanns, PhD, RN, is an Associate Professor and MSN Program Director at the University of Texas at Tyler. She holds degrees from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (PhD), UT Tyler (MSN, BSN), and has been recognized extensively for her contributions to nursing education and chronic illness research. Her roles include teaching courses across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, focusing on psychiatric/mental health, nursing education, and healthcare informatics.
Her research interests center on chronic illnesses like Parkinson’s disease and cancer, alongside innovations in nursing pedagogy. She has pioneered educational initiatives such as simulation-based learning and flipped classrooms, emphasizing empathy and clinical competence.
