Melina Fischer

Melina Fischer is a Research Fellow and doctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology and Social Geography, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, since March 2024. Her research focuses on institutional manifestations of whiteness within migrant-support organizations.

• Research Affiliations: Member of Migration and Mobilities Lab (MML) and IMISCOE SC RACED

Research Interests center on critical race theory, border studies, and feminist methodologies, analyzing power structures in activist organizations through intersectional and decolonial frameworks.

Methodological Approach combines participatory ethnography with fieldwork in Senegal, Sicily, and Austria/Germany, collaborating with PushBack Alarm Salzburg activists.
