Dr Melanie Simmonds-Buckley is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Sheffield's School of Psychology. She works in a split role, dedicating Monday-Wednesday to the university's Clinical and Applied Psychology Unit (CAPU) and Thursday-Friday to researcher duties at RDASH NHS Trust's Psychological Health Observatory within the Grounded Research team. She is also affiliated with the Psychotherapy Evaluation and Research Lab at Sheffield (PEARLS).

Recent publications examine CBT vs CAT for anxiety, depression treatment optimization, and data-driven restraint prediction in psychiatric wards. She supervises DClinPsy trainees and contributes to program selection but is not accepting PhD applicants.
