Melanie Latiers is a researcher affiliated with the Center for Vulnerabilities and Societies at the University of Namur, within the Faculty of Education and Training Sciences as well as the broader Namur Digital Institute. Her research focuses on crisis and emergency management, organizational analysis, and the psychodynamics of work. She completed her Doctorate in Economics and Management Sciences in 2009 with a thesis titled 'Coordination in emergency situations: a situated approach.'
Her work often explores how individuals and teams coordinate in high-stakes emergency environments. She has contributed to research articles, commissioned reports, and working papers, including a 2014 article on Evoq© Software: A Springboard to Creativity and a 2013 report on stress prevention for first-line responders. Her involvement in multiple academic events such as the XVIème Conférence internationale de management stratégique (2007), colloquia on flexible societies, and international workshops on future crises further underscores her academic engagement.
Her recent publications, including a 2015 report on early childhood care in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, demonstrate a broader interest in policy and social systems. Melanie has collaborated with scholars like Jean-Michel Jacques, Arnaud Wallemacq, and Nathalie Laurent.
