Melanie Lam

Melanie Lam is a Lecturer at the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) at Carnegie Mellon University. She is a game producer and designer with experience shipping titles such as Shrek the Third, Shrek SuperSlam, MySims, and expansions for The Sims Franchise. Previously, she directed the National High School Game Academy and founded an educational game startup in Pittsburgh leveraging technology from CMU's Robotics Institute.

Her research and professional interests span game design, educational technology, robotics applications in gaming, and sustainable food systems. She identifies as a global citizen, with roots in Singapore, Malaysia, and the UK.
