Dr. Meiyin Wu is a Professor of Biology at Montclair State University and Director of the New Jersey Center for Water Science and Technology. Her research focuses on aquatic ecosystems, urban development impacts, and green infrastructure for stormwater management. She leads studies on watershed management, nonpoint source pollution reduction, invasive species control, and wetland ecology under climate change. Dr. Wu is also involved in developing ultrasonic technologies to manage invasive species and advises on flood prevention strategies for vulnerable communities in New Jersey.
Her expertise includes ecological restoration, the Passaic River, and policy-related environmental challenges. Key research areas are habitat connectivity, biodiversity conservation, and the role of wetlands in global carbon cycles. Dr. Wu collaborates on National Science Foundation (NSF) projects, including advanced analytical instrumentation acquisitions for environmental research.
Grants and projects include MRI-funded initiatives for lab equipment and collaborative studies on greenhouse gas balances in wetlands.
