Meike Munser-Kiefer

Prof. Dr. Meike Munser-Kiefer is a W2 Professor of Primary School Pedagogy and Didactics (Focus on Diversity) at the University of Regensburg's Faculty of Humanities. She serves as Director of the Institute for Educational Science, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Director of the Center for Migration and Education, and is a member of the RUL Research College board. Her work bridges educational science, subject-specific science, and subject-specific didactics, focusing on teacher professionalization and primary school research.

Her research spans inclusion, diversity and intersectionality, digital transformation in education, and migration education. She examines adaptive teaching for diverse student populations, evidence-based instruction, and differentiated pedagogy with a focus on migration. Her work also addresses mixed-age classrooms, full-day schooling, literacy development, health promotion, and language education in primary settings.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on digital transformation in primary education, with particular attention to AI applications in spelling acquisition, teacher typologies in digital cultures, and online teaching practices. Prof. Munser-Kiefer leads multiple significant research projects including EIBE (Successful Inclusion through Education and Empowerment), TEBI (Transformation Development and Support with the Inclusion Monitor for Schools), P-ink (Professionalization for an Inclusive School System), and 'Strong Kids - Strong Self: Children Against Racism and Discrimination'. Her work emphasizes practical applications in teacher training and classroom implementation. She also directs the 'Migration and Education' certificate program and is developing a 'Language and Education' certificate program.

Her department functions as both a research hub and practical resource center, connecting university research with classroom practice through numerous collaborative projects with schools and educational institutions across Germany.
