معرفی
Dr. Mei Zhong is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on genetics, stem cell biology, and molecular mechanisms underlying diseases such as thalassemia and neurodegenerative disorders. She holds a PhD from McGill University and has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Zhong's work spans genomic sequencing, organoid engineering, and pharmacogenetic diagnostics. Her recent studies include haplotype-resolved genotyping for β-thalassemia, functional analysis of extracellular vesicles in liver failure, and generating thalamic organoids with synaptic connectivity. She collaborates frequently with teams led by In-Hyun Park, Haifan Lin, and Jun Lu.
Her research integrates genomic technologies with cellular models to advance understanding of genetic disorders and regenerative medicine. Key areas include:
- Genomic analysis of blood disorders
- Engineering vascularized brain organoids
- Mechanisms of chromatin regulation in stem cells
- Development of rapid diagnostic methods
Dr. Zhong's publications demonstrate expertise in both basic and translational research, bridging molecular genetics with clinical applications.
