معرفی
Mehrdad Rabani is an Associate Professor at the Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Technology, Art and Design at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University. His research focuses on achieving nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standards in Nordic climates through advanced retrofitting techniques, energy optimization, and lifecycle assessment. Key areas include indoor climate analysis using CFD methods, hybrid ventilation systems for cold climates, and integration of phase change materials (PCM) for thermal management.
Research highlights involve coupling building energy simulation tools with CFD and daylight programs to enhance thermal and visual comfort. He leads the Sustainable Built Environment (SustainaBuilt) research group, emphasizing technical, environmental, and economic aspects of building retrofitting. Notable projects include lifecycle analysis of GHG emissions in Norwegian office buildings and parametric studies of ground source heat pump systems.
Publications span peer-reviewed journals like Building and Environment and Energy Conversion and Management, as well as conferences such as BuildSIM-Nordic and CLIMA. His work bridges computational modeling with practical building solutions for climate resilience and energy efficiency.
