Mehmet Öz focuses on probability theory and stochastic processes, particularly spatial branching processes and random motion in random environments. His doctoral thesis addressed the survival probability of branching Brownian motion in Poissonian random traps. His research explores:
- Branching Brownian motion dynamics
- Survival strategies in trap fields
- Conditional speed analysis
- Shrinking/expanding domain interactions
- Skeleton decomposition techniques
- Subdiffusive behavior in random media
Recent publications analyze branching random walks under trap fields, survival strategies in Poissonian environments, large deviations for local mass, and applications to obstacle problems. His work bridges theoretical probability with physical models of particle systems. He has not been listed as receiving formal scientific awards, advising students, or leading labs in the provided texts.
