Mehmet Arik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University's College of Engineering. He holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota, an MS from the University of Miami, and a BS from Istanbul Technical University, all in Mechanical Engineering.

His research focuses on advancing heat transfer techniques, electronics cooling, and thermal management of photonics systems. With over 25 years of academic and industrial experience, he addresses theoretical model development and experimental validation for energy systems, medical systems, industrial electronics, photonics systems, and defense technologies. Key projects include thermal management of electronics, microfluidics jets, boiling/condensation heat transfer, and frost formation studies.
Dr. Arik has earned prestigious scientific awards, including NAI Fellow status and the Hartnett-Irvine Award from ICHMT. These honors recognize his contributions to heat transfer research and invention, particularly through a prolific patent portfolio (over 120 issued patents) with applications in medical, energy, aviation, and photonics systems.
