Mehdi Zannad

Mehdi Zannad is a French architect, engraver, urban designer, and lecturer at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Malaquais, part of PSL University. A graduate of the Nancy School of Architecture (ENSA Nancy), he holds the DPLG Architect diploma (1997) and contributes to architectural discourse through teaching, drawing, and visual research.

Research & Creative Focus:
Mehdi Zannad’s work centers on the visual representation of cities, combining architecture, engraving, and illustration. His research explores how drawing and engraving can document and reinterpret urban landscapes, with a particular emphasis on urban memory, architectural narrative, and graphic documentation of place.

His creative output includes monographs, engravings, and city notebooks, often exhibited in solo and group shows. Notable works include Topo-graphies (2020) and Villissima (2015), both published by Parenthèses. He has collaborated with architectural firms such as Brenac & Gonzalez and LAN, and contributed illustrations to major publications and exhibitions.

Exhibitions & Residencies:
Zannad has held numerous solo exhibitions, including Twelve Days in Amiens (2022) and Ghosts of Cities (2016–2018). He has participated in group exhibitions at the Centre Pompidou, Maison de l’Architecture, and FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, where his works are part of the permanent collection.

Music & Film:
Under the names Fugu, Mehdi Zannad, and The Last Detail, he has released four music albums and composed soundtracks for films by Serge Bozon, including La France (2007) and Don Juan (2022).
