Mehdi Moussaid

Mehdi Moussaid serves as an Associate Research Scientist at the Center for Adaptive Rationality within the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin.

Dr. Moussaid's research program investigates crowd behaviour through three interconnected pillars: crowd movement dynamics (pedestrian flows, stampedes, and crowd crush phenomena), social contagion processes (rumor propagation and information distortion), and collective intelligence mechanisms (group decision-making and wisdom-of-crowd effects). His interdisciplinary approach bridges cognitive science with complex systems theory to model emergent group behaviors in urban environments.
