Mehdi Aloosh is a Part-Time Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University, alongside his role as Medical Officer of Health for Windsor and Essex County, Ontario. He has over two decades of clinical and academic experience in public health, preventive medicine, and epidemiology across Canada and internationally.

- MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences
- MSc in Epidemiology from McGill University
- Certified in Family Medicine (CCFP) and Public Health (FRCP(C))
Research Interests focus on population health, antimicrobial resistance, planetary health, and the intersection of policy with community well-being. His work includes cross-border disease surveillance, foodborne outbreak investigations, and ethical dimensions of public health policies.
Teaching involves supervising Master of Public Health, medical, and postgraduate trainees in research, clinical rotations, and practicums. He is also an instructor for MPH Special Topics (PUBHLTH 707).
Publications highlight applications of wastewater surveillance for disease tracking, impacts of economic sanctions on health, and innovative public health frameworks. His recent works (2023-2024) emphasize cross-border collaborations, antimicrobial stewardship, and climate-related health risks like wildfire smoke.
