Meghna Chaudhuri serves as the James B. Duke Assistant Professor of History within the Department of History at Davidson College, specializing in the intersections of modern South Asian history, global capitalism, and socio-legal frameworks.
Her academic foundation includes:

Dr. Chaudhuri's research centers on financial subjectivity formation in colonial South Asia, examining how agrarian communities engaged with global financial infrastructures between 1830-1950. Her forthcoming book A Measure of Value: Global Finance and Making Capitalist Subjects in South Asia, 1830-1950 reframes welfare governance through finance, challenging neoliberal periodization. She actively promotes interdisciplinary scholarship across history of science, economic thought, and imperial law.
