University of Missouri Saint Louisمعرفی
Meghann Humphries, Ph.D., is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from UMSL and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Southeast Missouri State University. Her research focuses on host-parasite coevolution, population genetics, historical biogeography, and avian malaria, with a particular emphasis on understanding evolutionary dynamics and ecological relationships in avian species.
Dr. Humphries teaches a variety of courses, including Introductory Biology, Vertebrate Anatomy, Ornithology, and Conservation Biology. Her work integrates molecular techniques with ecological and evolutionary perspectives, contributing to fields such as avian malaria epidemiology and historical population demography. She is also involved in undergraduate research mentorship through courses like Conservation Biology Laboratory.
Her publications explore topics such as avian malaria parasite population structure, historical demography of Coereba flaveola, and phylogeographic patterns in Caribbean bird species. These studies highlight her interdisciplinary approach to understanding biodiversity and evolutionary processes.
