Meghan Warner is a Lecturer in the Civic, Liberal, and Global Education (COLLEGE) program at Stanford University, where she teaches introductory interdisciplinary courses to first-year students. She holds a PhD in Sociology (2024) from Stanford University, an MA in Sociology (2019) from Stanford, and a BA in Sociology (2016) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Her research focuses on gender inequality, employing qualitative methods to study bodies as sites for the reproduction of gender norms. Key areas include sexual violence, family formation, and pregnancy and childbirth. Her work has been published in Sociological Perspectives, Contexts, and The Annual Review of Law and Social Science. Her doctoral research, supported by grants from the American Sociological Association and others, examines how women in the SF Bay Area prepare for and experience first births.
Dr. Warner also provides grants-related support from organizations such as the Stanford Ethnography Lab and the Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences. Beyond academia, she serves as a birth and postpartum doula in the SF Bay Area, emphasizing evidence-based care and bodily autonomy.
