Meghan Johnston

Meghan Johnston is an Associate Teaching Professor at Simmons University in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, joining the faculty in 2022 after a decade of teaching in New York. She specializes in undergraduate instruction in organic and medicinal chemistry, chemical education, and endocannabinoid system research.

Education:

• PhD in Organic Chemistry from Northeastern University (Center for Drug Discovery)
• BS in Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut

Her research bridges organic chemistry, pharmacology, and STEM pedagogy, with a focus on endocannabinoid system components like 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) and enzymes such as monoacylglycerol lipase.
