Megan Scribe

Megan Scribe (Ininiw, Norway House Cree Nation) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, an MA and BA from York University, and specializes in Indigenous feminist and queer theories.

• Community Roles: Education Director at Yellowhead Institute, Committee Member for Indigenous Faculty Council, Ad Hoc Research Ethics Board Reviewer, Community Council Member at Aboriginal Legal Service.

Her research interrogates interlocking systems of settler colonialism, cis-heteropatriarchy, and anti-Blackness through Indigenous storywork, legal narratives, and literary analysis. Recent publications focus on Indigenous schooling, gender violence, and Black-Indigenous solidarity.

She teaches courses on queer sociology, colonialism, violence studies, and gender identities. Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement with critical race theory, postcolonialism, and Indigenous methodologies.
