Megan Mason

Dr. Megan Mason is Associate Professor of Music at Southern Virginia University, serving as Director of Chamber Music and Chair of the Fine & Performing Arts Division. She holds a Master of Music from The Juilliard School (2009) and Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan (2006).

Her performance research focuses on collaborative music practices and string pedagogy. As founding violist of the Tesla Quartet (2008-2013), she completed a professional residency at University of Colorado Boulder under the Takacs Quartet.

Award highlights include the Fischoff Gold Medal (2012) and first prizes in international competitions. She maintains active performance engagements globally and coordinates the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute.
