Megan Haasbroek is a postdoctoral researcher at the Janeway Institute, University of Cambridge, and a PhD candidate in Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Tinbergen Institute. Her academic journey includes a Research Master in Macroeconomics and International Economics from Tinbergen Institute. She will join BI Norwegian Business School in September 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher.
Her research focuses on international trade, economic geography, and development economics, with an emphasis on how market frictions mediate the effects of trade and industrial policies. Key projects include studying trade barriers, domestic transport costs, and compulsory acquisition policies in Indian SEZs. She has extensive teaching experience, including course coordination and supervision across multiple institutions.
Her work bridges theoretical insights and empirical analysis, particularly examining firm behavior in developing economies and policy impacts on employment and industrial development.
