Megan Gannon is an Associate Professor of English and Chair of the English Department at Ripon College. She holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing-Poetry from the University of Montana, and a B.A. in English from Vassar College. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students 'Become your best selves, not versions of homogeneity.'
Her research and creative interests span Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Poetry Translation. She has developed and taught sixteen diverse courses, including studies on coming-of-age stories, dystopian narratives, fairy tales, Virginia Woolf, and Gothic literary traditions. Her teaching style is described as structured, informal, and personal.
Gannon is an active writer in poetry and fiction, currently working on a new poetry collection and novels. She finds particular fulfillment in seeing her students achieve publishing success and awards.
