Meg Brayshaw is the John Rowe Lecturer in Australian Literature at the University of Sydney, specializing in 20th-21st century Australian fiction and literary engagements with environment/energy. Her research explores how Australian literature represents place, space, and ecological concerns.
Research focuses on:
- Australian realist novel traditions
- Literary representations of resource extraction
- Urban modernity in Sydney literature
- Ecocritical approaches to fiction
- Global modernisms
Publications examine mining in crime fiction, carbon capitalism narratives, and the relationship between literary form and urban environments. Current projects include a literary history of Australian mining.
