Dr. Medhat Ghaly is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Cardiovascular Medicine. He is affiliated with the Horstmann House and serves on the faculty of the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Clinical Educator. His academic interests include advances in cardiac devices, cardiac sarcoidosis, residency research, and primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases. He holds an MD from Ain-Shams University (2007) and completed residency training at Yale New Haven Medical Center, earning awards for senior resident excellence and clinical performance.
Dr. Ghaly's research focuses on cardiovascular diagnostics, infectious diseases, and pandemic-related complications such as renal and coagulopathy manifestations in COVID-19 patients. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications on malakoplakia, Agromyces bacteremia, and Giant Cell Myocarditis. His awards include the Fellow of the American College of Physicians and multiple residency program honors. He actively develops point-of-care ultrasound curricula for residents and participates in translational research initiatives.
