Md Sazib Hasan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Utah Tech University, joining the institution in 2019 after completing his Ph.D. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
His research centers on statistical modeling with specialized focus on Fiducial Inference, small sample problems, interval and prediction interval estimations, and statistical learning. He actively applies these methodologies to community-driven projects including lung cancer mortality prediction in Utah, water management facility identification in Washington County, stream water quality assessment, breast cancer prediction, and community sentiment analysis through text mining.
As a Project NExT Fellow, Dr. Hasan champions project-based learning and established student initiatives like DataFest to provide real-world experience. He serves as Vice Chair of the MAA Intermountain Section and mentors undergraduate students in research submissions while fostering an inclusive educational environment that emphasizes critical thinking and authentic learning through deep student interactions.
