Małgorzata Marcysiak

Małgorzata Marcysiak is a Lecturer at the Gieysztor Academy of Humanities, specializing in Pedagogy with a focus on bio-psycho-social aspects of human development. She holds a PhD in Humanities (2009) from the Polish Academy of Sciences and advanced degrees in philosophy, bioethics, and gerontology. Her career includes roles as Dean of the Faculty of Healthcare and Humanities (2010-2012), Head of the Department of Nursing and Social Sciences (2012-2018), and Rector's Plenipotentiary for Education Quality at the Ignacy Mościcki State Higher Vocational School in Ciechanów since 2012.

Research interests include obesity’s societal impacts, healthy aging, medical history, and bioethical care practices. She contributes to the editorial board of MODERN MEDICINE. STUDIES ON MEDICAL CULTURE and co-leads the 'Awareness of the Threat of Obesity' research project. Over 90 scientific publications span public health, ethics, and gerontology.

Professional affiliations include roles as Vice-Chair of the Mazovian Branch of the Polish Nursing Association and membership in the Polish Society of Hygiene and Polish Gerontological Society.
