Mazin Askar

Mazin Askar is a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Dentistry, University of Detroit Mercy. He teaches in the Postgraduate Endodontics Residency Program and Preclinical/Clinical Endodontics for pre-doctoral dental students, with a specialization in Microsurgical Endodontics.

• Education: B.D.S. from University of Baghdad (1973), M.S. in Endodontics from University of Minnesota (1980)

His research focuses on the microbiology of root canal systems, metallurgy of root canal file systems, and the cytotoxicity/genotoxicity of root canal materials, alongside tissue reactions to growth factors. He has been affiliated with the university since 2014.
