Maya E O'Neil

Dr. Maya E O'Neil is a Professor at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in the Departments of Psychiatry and Medical Informatics & Clinical Epidemiology. As Core Faculty in OHSU’s Clinical Psychology doctoral program, she combines clinical practice with research in PTSD, TBI, and neuropsychology. She holds a VA clinician role, specializing in rural telemental health, cognitive rehabilitation, and evidence-based therapies for Veterans. Her research focuses on PTSD treatments, TBI outcomes, and evidence synthesis methodologies, supported by grants like the VA Rehabilitation Research & Development Career Development Award (CDA).

Her work includes leading randomized trials like Compensatory Cognitive Training for PTSD and developing the PTSD-Repository for the National Center for PTSD. She collaborates with OHSU’s Advanced Imaging Research Center on fMRI protocols for TBI/PTSD neurophysiology. Dr. O'Neil’s research spans clinical trials, systematic reviews, and data harmonization projects, including contributions to the Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (CENC/LIMBIC).
