Maximilian Stephan

Maximilian Stephan, M.Sc. is part of the Chair of Communication Networks led by Prof. Wolfgang Kellerer at TU München. His work focuses on advanced networking technologies including machine learning-driven network analysis, hardware-accelerated solutions, and real-world network data applications. He actively contributes to projects like the 6G Testbed and ERC Network Flexibility initiatives.

Research interests span Graph Neural Networks for network data analysis, traffic anomaly detection using WSBMs, and optimizing load balancers via NIC hardware capabilities. He has co-authored publications in leading venues such as ITU Journal and IEEE ICC.

As a supervisor, he guides Master’s theses on topics like RTT-guided routing at Internet Exchange Points (IXPs). His affiliations include the FlexComNetsLab and 6G-IP Lab at TUM, reflecting involvement in cutting-edge communication research.
