Dr. Maximilian Buschmann is a Researcher at the Institute for the History of Pharmacy and Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Philipps University of Marburg, and concurrently holds a 50% research position at the Technical University of Munich. His work bridges medical history, political dissent, and transnational activism, with a focus on 19th-20th century Europe and America.

Research Focus: Buschmann investigates the intersection of body politics, institutional power, and resistance. His expertise spans:
- History of psychiatry, eugenics, and Nazi medical crimes
- Transnational anarchist/communist movements
- Hunger strikes as embodied political protest
- Pathological collections and memory politics
Publications: His 10 recent works (2015–2025) analyze hunger strikes through socio-political, medical, and ethical lenses. Predominant themes include state repression, prison systems, human rights discourse, and the globalization of protest tactics from Weimar Germany to Cold War America.
