Maxim Smirnov is an Associate Professor at Luleå University of Technology's Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering. His research focuses on Applied Geophysics, particularly magnetotelluric methods for investigating crustal structures, tectonic processes, and geothermal systems. Key areas include continental collision zones, mineral exploration, and geoelectrical imaging of geological formations.
