معرفی
Maxim Rysanov is an internationally acclaimed Ukrainian-British violist and conductor, and International Artist in Residence at the Royal College of Music (RCM) Strings Department. A Grammy nominee and frequent performer at major festivals (BBC Proms, Edinburgh, Salzburg, Verbier), he combines viola soloistry with conducting, often directing concerts as a soloist. His chamber music collaborations include partnerships with artists like Maxim Vengerov, Janine Jansen, and Gidon Kremer, while his advocacy for contemporary repertoire has led to world premieres by composers such as Dobrinka Tabakova and Gabriel Prokofiev.
Rysanov’s recordings have received critical acclaim, including a Grammy nomination for Dobrinka Tabakova’s debut disc and Gramophone Critic’s Choice of the Year for his Schubert album. He has studied viola with Maria Sitkovskaya (Moscow) and John Glickman (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), and conducting with Alan Hazeldine. Rysanov plays on a Guadagnini viola (1780) loaned by the Elise Mathilde Foundation.
