Prof. Dr. Max Steinhardt is a Professor of Economics and Head of the Department of Economics at the Free University of Berlin’s John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies. He specializes in labor economics, political economy, migration economics, and U.S. economic policy. His research addresses topics such as immigration impacts, political economy of trade policies, and long-term effects of childhood diversity. He supervises doctoral candidates in migration, labor markets, and U.S. policy. Awards include the Helmut Schmidt Prize 2015. He teaches courses like US Economic Policy and Applied Microeconomics seminars.
